In the heart of Metro Detroit, where luxury design and modern art collide, stands Italcasa Design—a stunning Italian interiors showroom that became one of the most unexpected stars of Sugar Boys.
When we needed a location for one of the film’s most mysterious scenes—a stylish sugar art boutique called SGRLuxe—we didn’t want to build it. We wanted to find it. And we found it inside Italcasa.
🍬 Scene Breakdown: Sugar, Suspicion, and Style
In this pivotal moment, Swifty McVay (as Detective Stone) and Chris Reynolds (as Detective McDoodle) step into what appears to be a cutting-edge boutique filled with artful sugar creations. But what starts as a simple missing persons case unravels into something far more sinister—one tied to a strange product at the center of Myba International’s conspiracy.
SGRLuxe, as seen in the film, is not a fabricated set. It’s Italcasa—real furniture, real art, real texture. And that authenticity is exactly what sold the moment.
🎥 Why We Chose Italcasa
We weren’t just looking for something “cool on camera.” We needed a space that carried mood, depth, and cinematic presence.
Italcasa gave us everything:
- A bold, contemporary layout that feels alive on screen
- Artwork and lighting that enhanced the mystery
- Textural richness that made every frame feel curated
The result? A boutique that feels high-fashion, seductive, and quietly menacing—just like the scene demanded.
🙏 Huge Thanks to Nair Bahoora and the Italcasa Team
From the moment we stepped into Italcasa, we knew we had something special. But what truly made it work was the support of Nair Bahoora and his amazing team.
They understood the assignment, welcomed our crew, and gave us the creative freedom to bring SGRLuxe to life. Their hospitality and trust made this shoot not only beautiful—but seamless.
🎭 Italcasa Wasn’t Just a Location—It Was a Character
In many ways, SGRLuxe represents more than a place. It’s a metaphor for the world of Sugar Boys—a world where beauty hides danger, and sweetness masks manipulation. The design, the space, the tension… all of it plays a role in the viewer’s subconscious.
And that’s the power of great production design—especially when it’s real.
